WEATHER:

Weather can be a factor on trips however, modern

winter clothing allows anyone to be outside in all

but the most extreme conditions.  Warming lodges

are always open and the club has our own staff to

assist members.  If a trip is cancelled, we will send

emails plus post a notice on this site.  You can also

call Avalanche Ski Club at 224-223-7542 (SKIC).   For

up to the minute ski area conditions see the links

to our ski areas on the trip schedule page.

Remember local areas make lots of snow!  They

can't be open and in business if they don't have

enough snow to ski on so they make many feet of

snow throughout the season.  When snow melts

from your yard, they can still be skiing on machine

groomed, man-made snow.
